How It Made My Other Businesses More Profitable… And Its Not The Way You Think

By Corey | March 9, 2007

In this post I am going tell you about an unlikely benefit I received by being a member of Directmatches. It has to do with my newly found confidence and posture. Let me explain.

Perhaps most of you came into network marketing with skills and a chip on your shoulder. You are an unbelievable recruiter, an awesome networkers or savvy business builder. A real “this stuff is easy type guy.” NOT ME!

The cold hard truth is that I really sucked for a very long (and painful) time. I was bumbling around, scaring the living hell out of every prospect. My prospects would run screaming in the other direction. They could smell the desperation from a mile away. Other than that I was a freakin’ mess. I worked for three years in various companies, I went to the big seminars, attended Dani Johnson “First Steps To Success” (highly recommend her by the way)and worked unbelievably hard. The only thing I was building was credit card debt.

Then came Directmatches. Now I have a modest (but nice) income rolling in, a large downline, some great contacts, some new skills and, most importantly, CONFIDENCE and POSTURE. Two key things resulting from some of the methods being taught and the feeling that “yes I can be successful.”

Funny thing happens as you see your downline grow. You notice things; People come, people go. Some people put in hundreds of reps, some do nothing. Some are good right away and then fade, some do nothing and then one day BAM they are working. I was seeing how an a network marketing organization works. How to not let every little thing bother me and concentrate on two big things, putting more people in and duplicating my efforts with the people who are willing. Concepts I’ve heard over and over before but never quite experienced until my downline started to grow.

Also, since Directmatches is free it allows for people to come in and participate without making the big commitment. This in turn allows a struggling guy, like myself, see how it’s supposed to work. I get a glimpse of what my leaders in other companies get to see. Up until now I only saw my 2 or three poeple not do anything. I worked my prospects like I had to do everything. I worked the prospects like I needed the money.

All this newly found optimism started to bleed into my other endeavors. I do not sweat the big stuff anymore because I know I will be successful. Been there. Who cares if so and so doesn’t sign up, NEXT.

Bottom line. I now have confidence and posture. Two of the most critical elements when it come to surviving in any entrepreneurial endeavor. I’ve heard about these concepts many times before (they are part of network marketing 101), but, until I “experienced” them the light bulb just didn’t go on. Now that I’ve had an opportunity to see the bigger picture and taste some success, the future is much brighter.
